HOUSTON, TX - On Monday, experienced and proven community leader Alvin Byrd officially filed for a place on the ballot for Houston City Council District B.
Byrd, who is considered a front-runner in most political and community circles, has a groundswell of support from young and old constituents in District B. With nearly 30 years of political and civic engagement experience, Byrd looks poised to lead District B to new heights.
“I am so excited for the opportunity to represent the best district in Houston. I have devoted my life’s work to improving the lives of so many families in District B and I feel confident our team will do the necessary work to win this important election on November 5,” Byrd said flanked by family and friends at City Hall.
Byrd narrowly lost the race for District B in 2011 by 94 votes to current District B Councilman Jerry Davis.
